EduCMS
designed for educators
A clear school website, built in WordPress
EduCMS brings your school’s website into one place. Families find news and key pages more easily, and you are not paying for a different form tool for every little job. We help you plan the layout, the look, and how office staff and teachers publish. The live site is not stored on HSJ servers. In Victoria, it runs on the Department of Education’s own hosting so you follow the state’s rules for school data and security.
What is in the EduCMS build
Below is what we build with you, step by step. It matches how a real school works, with your leadership, your learning areas, and the way the office and classrooms update the site. It is a school site, not a one-size business template you have to force to fit.
Custom WordPress theme
Enrolment and contact details sit in plain view. Text is large enough to read on phones, and your school colours and logo stay consistent, so a quick edit from the office or a teacher does not break the design. You edit in the usual WordPress block editor many people already know.
Staff directory
Parents see leadership, key learning area contacts, and specialists in one list. You change a name or role in one place and the website updates.
News and blogs
One stream for news, letters, and short updates. You can tag by topic or year level so busy weeks do not bury the one message every parent had to read.
Curriculum and learning area pages
Space for each learning area (for example English, mathematics, science, humanities subjects such as history and geography, the arts, health and PE, and languages) so you can list what is taught, key resources, and what parents should know.
Keeping families and your school community informed
After launch, the site is part of daily school life. The three areas below are about the busy week, not a brochure. They cover quick alerts, forms and files parents can find themselves, and questions that land with the right person in the office.
School announcements and entry notices
Post urgent news such as fire weather days, drill notices, or health updates. You can add a message that appears as soon as someone opens the site, so the critical line is not buried three clicks deep.
Resource centre
Keep PDFs and links in one place. That means enrolment packs, how to pay, child safety, handbooks, and so on. Sort them so parents help themselves, and the office spends less time saying “it is in the last newsletter.”
Contact and book a tour
General contact and tour requests go to the email addresses you pick. You do not need another paid app just for school forms. Mail is sent from your public school email or .edu.au address the way you already expect.
We are looking for 5 schools to trial this
We are only taking five schools for a first run. We will agree a start date, what “success” means for you, and catch up at set points. In your message, tell us your role, when you need to be live, and what is not working on your site today. We will be honest about what the pilot can do and what your school or the department must handle first.

About EduCMS
What is EduCMS?
It is a clear school website built in WordPress, with a custom theme, news, a staff directory, learning area pages, and forms that do not need a separate product for every form. We help you plan the layout, look, and how your team publishes.
Is the live site hosted on HSJ servers?
No. The hero on this page states it plainly. In Victoria, the live school site is intended to run on the Department of Education’s own hosting so you follow the state’s rules for school data and security. HSJ helps you with design, build, and how to run the site, not the department’s infrastructure.
Who updates the website after launch?
Your team at school. The build uses the usual WordPress block editor so people who are allowed to can post news, adjust pages, and keep the staff list current without a separate ticket for every small change.
Pilot & getting started
What is the five-school trial?
We are taking a small number of schools for a first run. We agree a start date, what success looks like for you, and check in at set points. Contact us to express interest, describe your school’s situation, and we will be clear about what the pilot can cover.
What about support and cost during and after the trial?
The software is free for one year during the trial period. Our team is available to help free of charge during that time. After the first year we are looking at $50 per month. That is not final until we agree it with your school.
We already have data that shows schools using Jotform can drop that kind of subscription and run forms through their own site instead, often saving $1,000 or more per year while keeping everything in one place.
How do we start a conversation?
Use the contact page and put EduCMS in the subject or first line. Say whether you are interested in the pilot, a later build, or help moving from an old site, and we will reply with a few direct questions.
Next step is a conversation
When you contact us, please write EduCMS in the subject or first line. Say if you want the five-school trial, a later build, or help moving off an old site. We will answer with a few direct questions, not a cut-and-paste sales email.
